Girls on the Run (GOTR)

Girls on the Run is an after school program like no other! Twice per week for 8 weeks, girls of all abilities

will have fun, build positive connections, learn important life skills, and strengthen their physical and

emotional health. Trained and caring coaches lead 3rd - 4th graders through interactive lessons, games and discussions. The season ends with our team crossing the finish line at GOTRVT's 5k Celebration!

Registration Opens Wednesday, March 2

Program Begins The week of March 28

5k Celebration Saturday, June 4 at the Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Junction


Our Brookside team will meet in the school gymnasium on

Mondays and Thursdays from 2:45 to 4:30 p.m.

Our team is for students in 3rd - 4th grades.

Summer Programming at GMPA


Join Green Mountain Performing Arts located in Waterbury VT for a Summer full of dancing, games, crafts and more!

We have many weekly camp options for ages 3-13 in a variety of dance styles and themes like

- Encanto Tap & Jazz Camp

- Disney Zombies Hip Hop Camp

- "Sing" Dance Camp

- The Greatest Showman

and more!

Adults want to dance too! We will also be offering two beginner adult evening classes in Hip Hop & Irish!

You are bound to find something that your dancer will enjoy. Registration is now open!

HUHS She's the First

Worldwide, 62 million girls are out of school. Harwood Union High School She’s the First is running a raffle to raise money to send girls to school who are the first in their families to attend high school in Ethiopia and Uganda. We are gathering prizes from many amazing local restaurants and businesses! Some prizes include a GoPro, day tickets to Mad River Glen, artwork, and gift certificates to local businesses. Tickets are $5 a piece, or a book of 5 for $20. To purchase a ticket, please email shesthefirsthu@gmail.com with your name, email, phone number, mailing address, and preferred method of payment. 2022 Harwood Girls Basketball Camp

6/20-6/24 Grades 2-5 Girls 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

6/20-6/24 Grades 6-9 Girls 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.


**Please attend the camp for the grade entering in August, 2022**

Each camp will be capped at 40 participants.


Philosophy: Each camp will focus on a combination of team and individual skills for girls of all levels and abilities. The coaches will concentrate on building a strong foundation in the basic skills of dribbling, passing and shooting. Every camper will get a better appreciation for the game, sportsmanship, and learn fundamentals to take them to the next level of performance & most of all Have Fun! The camp stresses hands-on learning through a variety of drills and competitions.


Registration & Fees: The early registration fee is $125.00 per camper/per camp week. To reserve your spot, please fill out the form below and mail it in. The early registration period ends May 1st, 2021. The fee after June 8th is $150.00. Sorry, no refunds are available.


Harwood Youth Wrestling is back!

First practice will be Thursday February 17th


Where: Harwood Union High School, Wrestling Room/Upstairs Gym

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays

5:45pm-6:45pm (Feb 17th- Feb 24th)

5p-6:30p (beginning Mar 1st)

Who: Anyone grades 3rd-6th


Cost will be AAU membership cost ($14) and cost of tournament entry fees.


Bring: Workout Clothes, Wrestling Shoes, Water, Masks

NATURE EXPLORATIONS: Tuesdays, 10-11:30 am @ various trailheads in the area. Get outside for some fresh air an


d fun! Every week we go to a different trailhead or natural area to explore and connect with the natural world and with each other. Activities are hands-on and facilitated by an instructor. Ages 0-6 and carriers are helpful fo

MUSIC & MOVEMENT: Wednesdays, 10:30-11:30 @ the SAL Room of the Waterbury Public Library. Ready for some singing, moving & playing? Come join us for Music & Movement! We begin by singing songs and moving together and allow time at the end to play on the swings and slide, as well as time for parents to socialize too! Ages 0-6. Masks required for all participants 2 years old and up. All The calendar will be updated the morning of by 8:00 am for cancellations.


SLEDDING & SKATING MEET UPS: Come join The Children’s Room for some winter fun! We are doing monthly sledding and ice skating meet ups. Check the online calendar for weather cancellations. 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. Snacks provided too!

BABY CIRCLE: Thursdays, 1:00-2:00 pm. This informal, drop-in, weekly meet-up group is for pregnant or postpartum parents & caregivers. Join us for connection and theme-based discussions via Zoom. Pre-register with Hayley hayley@goodbeginningscentralvt.org. Enrollment is always open!


PRACTICAL POSITIVE CO-PARENTING WORKSHOP: Thursday, March 3rd @ 8:00 pm, 90 minutes in length. Cost is FREE. Pre-register by emailing childrensroom@huusd.org

The Children's Room is partnering with Dustin Bruley of Lighthouse Wellness to offer a Zoom parenting workshop. Parents will learn strategies and tools to improve (and in some cases rescue) their relationship with their co-parent (whether or not that's their current partner). There will also be activities and a Q & A. As a bonus gift, everyone who completes the workshop will receive a free coaching session to implement what they've learned into their individual situation.

Waterbury Winterfest

Enjoy safe winter adventures and win prizes by joining the Wanderlust Challenge running from Satu


rday, January 15 through February 5, 2022. This photo scavenger hunt is open to kids, families and individuals of all ages and includes 70 different challenges for contestants to pursue during three weeks of mid-winter fun.

Individuals or household teams can register for free at http://www.waterburywinterfest.com/wanderlust starting Jan. 12 and choose among eight different categories of winter adventure including Play in the Snow, Create, Explore and/or Hunker Down. Contestants upload photos of themselves or their mascots participating in the challenge of their choice by Saturday to qualify for weekly prize drawings with Grand Prizes for top performers at the conclusion of Wanderlust on Feb. 5.

Also note: In-person Waterbury Winterfest Events will return for outdoor activities Feb. 2 - 6. Covid safe protocols will be in place for outdoor fun including snow soccer, sledding, snow football, fat biking, snow shoeing, and other activities including an outdoor concert with The DEW at the Party in the Park on Saturday, Feb. 5.
