SUBJECT: HUUSD Board Sept 19 Meeting Recap
Dear members of our six town community,
At our last meeting on September 19, 2018, the Harwood Unified Union School District (HUUSD) Board took action on four (4) items:
Approved our consent agenda including meeting minutes, board warrants, and financial report.
Appointed Moretown resident Linda Hazard as the new Moretown board trustee to fill a vacant seat with 69.2 % approval from the board.
Approved our annual budget work plan.
Approved our Vision SMART goal as part of structuring ongoing board work.
The board also reviewed a presentation by Truex Cullins and the Executive Project Committee to better understand four options for middle school configurations (grades 7 and 8 only). We encourage members of the public to review the Middle School Presentation and complete the accompanying worksheet to share feedback on the four options under consideration. Please visit the first two “quick links" on the top right corner of the Harwood Bond page (https://wwsu.org/harwood-bond-project). To ensure transparency, we are posting all completed worksheets on the same site. Our next public discussion of these options is scheduled as part of the October 10 board meeting at 6 pm.

Our next meeting is our “open to the public" workshop to learn about community engagement. It is being held at the Wednesday, September 26th at the Waterbury Town Offices, Steele Community Room at 28 North Main Street, Waterbury. We are excited to welcome 17 community members who registered to learn and brainstorm alongside the board and school administrators. (note: registration is now closed.)
Thank you for your continued support and engagement.
Respectfully, The HUUSD Board
